The Victory Youth Group (VYG) is perhaps the biggest youth organisation in the UK to date.
With branches across London, in Birmingham, Manchester, Nottingham, Leeds and even as far as Scotland and Ireland, this vibrant group works alongside young people to help them realise and reach their full potential.
The VYG engages young people through performing arts, sports and topical meetings that not only challenge their perception of life but also offers an alternative insight that encourages them to grow to be positive infl uences in the communities where they are based.
The Youth Group also tackles issues—that aren’t often openly discussed—but that young people face daily. This is done through various drama based events and initiatives such as the Life is Worth Living project that was featured on news outlets including the BBC, following their march in response to the youth violence epidemic in the capital.
There is an abundance of potential in a young person and with so much time and so many options out there, the VYG provides an environment full of activities where young people can discover and develop their talent while spending their time wisely.
- Sunday live – Sunday Live meetings are fun and dynamic. Every Sunday at 1.30pm you can join the friendly year-long competition that’s packed with team building activities, competitions, live shows, and so much more.
- Real Talk – A real and valuable talk on how youths are able to fulfil their potential and be successful regardless of the challenges that life presents them. The topics are raw, relevant, and real. Real Talk meetings happen Wednesdays at 6pm.
- One-to-one – A team of mentors are always on standby at any of our centres. They are ready to listen and give practical advice to help you overcome any issue that you may be going through.
- Music – VYG members and newcomers get the chance to showcase their talent by performing in our events and weekly meetings. Some also get to record inspirational music with VYG Records.
- Sports – Friendly football matches take place every Sunday after the Sunday Live meetings. If you’re into football or know someone that is, why not join in on the fun!
- Drama – From spoken word, musicals, films and drama productions—written and directed by youths for youths! The various productions are mini projects throughout the year that are showcased during VYG events.
