A Cheerful Christmas Lunch

Amidst the flurry of travelling to meet loved ones and shopping for gifts, one thing many look forward to during the festive period is Christmas dinner—gathered around the table with those they love. Unfortunately, this is not a reality everyone is able to enjoy.

As we do every year, select UCKG HelpCentre locations opened their doors to provide free Christmas meals to all in need. Regardless of circumstances, we joyfully welcomed individuals and families with warmth—a warm smile, a warm environment, and a warm meal prepared with love.

Research shows that over one million families rely on charity food parcels at Christmas. While our centres could not reach all of them, we aimed to offer an uplifting and memorable experience to those who came. Our volunteers not only prepared delicious meals, but also decorated and transformed the centres to reflect the care and thought behind the event—creating a festive, welcoming atmosphere for every guest.

We welcomed people from various communities, many of whom expressed their appreciation and shared the joy they felt throughout the day. Even our volunteers were left with heartwarming memories and a deep sense of fulfilment.

Though the festive season has passed, our soup kitchens and food banks remain open—serving those in our communities, one meal at a time.
