Our telephone helpline is available to all and operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. When a person is facing difficulties in life, a friendly voice, a listening ear and a little bit of encouragement can go a really long way. Our volunteers are on hand to provide these to callers irrespective of the time they call.
For many, getting through each day can be extremely difficult, and with the onset of the pandemic we’ve seen more people calling our helpline to express just that. It has been very tough, and the need to have someone to talk to, who is also able to offer some practical and even spiritual advice, has become very apparent. The 24-hour helpline is here for just that, available to offer help and support to those that need it.
We receive calls from people going through a wide range of problems; from suicidal thoughts, to marital issues and addictions. But the helpline exists to relay the understanding that every problem has a solution, no matter how difficult or complicated it may be. Problems don’t need to be faced alone, and so our volunteers are always ready to give support to those who call.

What to expect when you call our helpline?
- A friendly human voice that will answer saying something like “UCKG HelpCentre, how can I help?”
- An invitation to open up and express yourself regarding any issues you may be going through, without being judged
- After you’ve spoken to us about whatever you need to, we will offer some encouragement and practical advice, where applicable, to help you overcome the situation.
- We can also offer appointments to attend one of our HelpCentres, where you will be able to sit down and speak to someone one-to-one to receive practical and/or spiritual help and advice.
