Guardians by day Angels by night

The Night Angels is a unique project due to the fact that it’s the only one of ours that takes place exclusively at night. On selected Friday evenings, a group of volunteers (known as the ‘Night Angels’) head to the streets of the local area equipped with bags containing food, warm clothing and hygiene items with the intention of assisting those sleeping rough. Often made to feel despised and overlooked by society, the homeless are visited on the streets by our volunteers at precisely the time when help is hardest to come by – at night.

Before embarking on one of these night runs, we prepare packages of carefully selected items specific to the general needs of rough sleepers. A typical pack can include, but is not limited to:

Food items: Sandwich, Breakfast Bar, Dried fruit, Bottled Water

Clothing items: Thermal socks, gloves, hats

Hygiene items: Roll-on deodorant, mini toothbrush, mini toothpaste, wet wipes, plasters, lip balm, lotion, feminine hygiene items

We increase the frequency of this work particularly in the autumn and winter seasons and are working tirelessly to secure more of the above items so we will be able to give more.

We were able to find over 450 rough sleepers across the country in one month, all of which expressed gratitude for the packs they received.

Wherever there is someone sleeping rough, we want to be there, like an angel, at their hour of need believing that no life is ever too broken to be fixed.
