Community Care Day Event – UCKG Food Projects Nationwide

A National Day of Support, Kindness and Practical Help

The UCKG Community Outreach team is pleased to announce a Community Care Day Event taking place on Saturday, 26th July, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at all UCKG Food Projects nationwide.

This initiative forms part of our wider mission to serve and uplift individuals and families who are experiencing hardship, isolation, or any form of social vulnerability. In an increasingly demanding time for many households, this event aims to ensure that no one is left behind.

Whether you are a returning visitor or someone seeking help for the first time, you will be welcomed with dignity, compassion, and respect. This event is completely free and open to all, with no registration or referral required.

What Will Be Offered on the Day

We aim to create a supportive space where people from all walks of life can find relief, connection, and encouragement. Services provided on the day will include:

  • Free essential items for individuals and families in need
  • Free distribution of clothing for adults and children
  • Free haircuts, offered by qualified volunteer barbers and stylists
  • Basic health checks, delivered by trained health professionals and partners
  • Community meals provided at selected locations, offering a warm, nutritious plate of food and a place to sit and connect with others
  • One-to-one support with trained and approachable volunteers
  • Emotional and practical guidance, with signposting to further resources
  • Light refreshments available at various centres
  • Information about ongoing community support through the UCKG Community Outreach network

This day is about more than just physical support — it is about restoring dignity, fostering hope, and creating a sense of belonging.

Why This Event Matters

Every individual matters, and every life has value. We recognise that behind every need is a person — someone who deserves to be treated with care and compassion. Through this event, we aim to bring that care into the heart of every community we serve.

We also encourage members of the public to share this event with anyone who may benefit — neighbours, friends, family, or colleagues. Sometimes, the first step to recovery or connection is simply knowing that help is available.
