The Family Day at HMP Brixton took place on Saturday 22nd December 2018.
Four Rescue of Dignity volunteers attended on the day, welcoming families, signing them into the visitors centre as well as offering help and support.
Working alongside the Prison Advice and Care Trust (Pact) volunteers, a national charity that provides support to prisoners, people with convictions, and their families, ROD members assisted the children and their parents with arts and craft during their extended visit.
The morning was aimed at encouraging families to engage together with their loved one in a way they may not have been able to during a regular visit.
In total 15 gift packs, which included essential toiletries and basic food items, donated by ROD volunteers and members were given out to the families of inmates.
